Reconciled service charge cost comparison to OSCAR 2006
Following the increase in the OSCAR 2007 database and altered definitions, we have compared the results with Retail Park OSCAR 2006 with the same classifications and the table below shows the results ignoring changes.
This shows a cost increase between the two years of 7.87%, but this is much higher for the Shopping Parks while those for Retail and Bulky Goods Parks are much lower.

The database is different between the two years both in terms of numbers and types of Parks. There are 136 Parks that are common to the two years and we have run a comparison of those Parks below.
This shows a year on year increase of 10.23% overall, a figure well ahead of inflation and well ahead of the comparison of the full database. This may suggest that there is a strong upward trend on service costs and that this is even more apparent within Shopping Parks.
